Article 5.0.3 of our CC&Rs states “No hedge within the (front) setback area of any house shall have a height greater than three (3) feet above the ground.” Elsewhere, hedges may be 6 feet in height.
This regulation exists in part for aesthetic purposes, but more importantly for safety reasons. As vehicles exit from our driveways, a hedge higher than 3 feet impedes visibility of the sidewalk. This means we cannot see oncoming pedestrians. A number of homeowners have experienced near misses with pedestrians, pets and other vehicles in these circumstances. Please ensure hedges within the front setback of your home comply with the CC&R’s, and kindly trim back hedges as needed. Our board sincerely appreciates your cooperation with this important safety issue.
